Gorilla Trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park of Uganda or the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park is an experience that will most certainly stay with you for the rest of your life. Known as the Pearl of Africa, Uganda is home to half of the Mountain Gorilla Population as well as eleven other primate species that may be spotted when trekking through the rainforests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Other attractions in Uganda include Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest freshwater lake; Kibale National Forest, where a large number of chimpanzees reside; and Queen Elizabeth National Park, where Africa’s Big Five animals roam. In the north-western section of Rwanda you will find Volcanoes National Park, a scenic destination made up of rolling hills, tropical rainforests and volcanoes. Alongside the Mountain Gorillas, the park is home to Rwanda’s Golden Monkey, a rare and endangered primate species. Other highlights of Rwanda include, the bustling city of Kigale; Big Five game viewing in Akagera National Park; canoeing along a river through the Rwandan countryside; and a boat trip to view pods of Hippos, Crocodiles and Waterbirds.
